Why is it that the blithering idiots of the world always have to da-mn what came before them?
Why can't they just talk about how good their product is without besmirching what came before them?
Well, it is spring training for baseball. Check out the wind-up and "pitch" I recently received...
"Made-for-mobile content is designed specifically for mobile phone/device users. Trying to squeeze traditional filmed media into a small footprint on a handset will not succeed, because mobile viewers just won?t take the time nor do they have the desire to view feature films (for example) on business-card-size displays. Instead, made-for-mobile content, such as that featured at the ?World?s Smallest Film Festival?, will create new markets and new opportunities for mobile multimedia."

Ouch,let's not pull any punches.

"Forget the old paradigm of cramming 90-minute feature films into matchbook-sized screens. Forget movie trailers. Technology and content genres are undergoing a radical shift in design and capabilities as vendors gear up to deliver the content and services users will actually use and demand."

Are you ready to set the creative standard for a new medium?
Greetings! We are producing the 'World's Smallest Film Festival' (WSFF), which is an event to showcase the video content and technology that will be viewable on the next generation of mobile phones. Mobile video has already taken much of the rest of the world by storm and now it is coming to the U.S.
The 'World's Smallest Film Festival' will be hosted in March 2003 at the largest wireless technology/content show in the U.S (Wireless 2003, by <http://wireless2003.ctsg.com/general/first_annual.cfm>www.CTIA.org). With 40,000 delegates and 800 members of the international press present, the 'World's Smallest Film Festival' is sure to draw extensive publicity. Guest speakers at Wireless 2003 will include Ted Turner, Bill Gates, and other industry leaders.
Made-for-mobile content is designed specifically for mobile phone/device users. Trying to squeeze traditional filmed media into a small footprint on a handset will not succeed, because mobile viewers just won?t take the time nor do they have the desire to view feature films (for example) on business-card-size displays. Instead, made-for-mobile content, such as that featured at the ?World?s Smallest Film Festival?, will create new markets and new opportunities for mobile multimedia.
What is the market potential for mobile video? With nearly 138 million cell phone and mobile wireless service subscribers in the U.S. and an estimated 900 million worldwide, the potential market for multimedia-capable wireless phones and made-for-mobile content is huge. Forget the old paradigm of cramming 90-minute feature films into matchbook-sized screens. Forget movie trailers. Technology and content genres are undergoing a radical shift in design and capabilities as vendors gear up to deliver the content and services users will actually use and demand.
Be there: 'The World's Smallest Film Festival' is an integral part of the overall CTIA show and has been widely promoted by them. The finalists in the various categories of the film festival will have their films screened at a special WSFF booth on the show floor (where viewers can vote for the films, courtesy of BMW Films); and during a 6 hour conference for invited media/technology executives and key influencers. This conference will allow participating companies a role in defining the future of mobile multimedia to a highly targeted and influential audience of creative and technology companies. Shouldn't you be helping us define the standard in mobile video?
